In many parts of the world, "Superbugs"—bacteria resistant to antibiotics—are a growing threat. This new device allows healthcare providers to identify which antibiotic will actually work for a patient without needing a full-scale pathology lab.

"Our goal is to bring high-tech biosensing out of the ivory tower and into the hands of those who need it most," says the lab’s latest research update. "By using materials as simple as masking tape and paper, we are making life-saving diagnostics accessible to rural clinics."
