International Conference on Physics 2026
By Md Abu Sadat Soash

Members of our research group from the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at SUST recently attended the International Conference on Physics 2026. Organized by the Bangladesh Physical Society, the three-day event was hosted at the Department of Physics, University of Dhaka, from April 9th to 11th.
The conference, themed "Exploring the Realm of Physics: Fundamentals to Frontiers," provided an exceptional platform for interdisciplinary scientific exchange. While our lab's core focus remains in bioinformatics, evolutionary relationships, and genomics, several of the conference's dedicated sessions were highly relevant to our work. Specifically, the sessions on Medical, Health and Biophysics and Theoretical and Computational Physics offered valuable perspectives.
Engaging with these domains highlights the growing intersection between physics and computational biology. The theoretical and computational methodologies discussed at the conference present exciting potential for cross-pollination with our ongoing work in pangenomics, protein modeling, and phylogenetic analysis.
We are excited to bring these interdisciplinary insights back to our computational pipelines and look forward to future collaborations across scientific boundaries!
