Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) & Rapid Diagnostics
Developing rapid, portable, and cost-effective diagnostic tools that bring clinical-grade testing directly to the patient’s bedside. Our work focuses on decentralizing healthcare by reducing the "sample-to-result" time, enabling immediate clinical decisions in both urban and resource-limited settings.

Our research in Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) aims to bridge the gap between complex laboratory infrastructure and immediate patient care. By integrating advanced biosensing with simplified user interfaces, we create diagnostic platforms that do not require specialized training or expensive equipment.
Key Research Pillars:
- Rapid Detection: Reducing diagnostic windows from days to minutes for infectious diseases, cardiac markers, and metabolic shifts.
- Portability: Designing handheld and wearable form factors that maintain high sensitivity and specificity.
- Accessibility: Engineering low-cost solutions, such as paper-based assays and smartphone-integrated readers, specifically tailored for global health challenges and remote monitoring.
- Connectivity: Leveraging Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) to allow real-time data transmission between the point of care and healthcare providers.
Through this multidisciplinary approach, we are transforming how diseases are monitored, diagnosed, and managed, ensuring that life-saving information is available when and where it is needed most.
